Alton Miller

Biography
Alton Miller is one of the key figures in Detroit's electronic dance
music scene. Growing up in 1970's Detroit, Alton was immersed in
the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Santana, Parlaiment Funkadelic and
the Phildelphia sound. The '80's saw Alton become an avid clubber,
soaking up the energy on the dancefloors of Chicago DJ's Ron Hardy
& Frankie Knuckles, who were prime influences. Looking to re-create
this energy and atmosphere, Alton and a couple like-minded friends
opened the Music Institute. The Music Institute became one of the
epicenters of the underground House Movement where Alton and
Chez Damier shared a now legendary Saturday night residency.
Following the demise of the Music Institute, Miller took an interest
in Conga drumming in addition to DJing, which led to a period
between 1989 and 1991 where he toured the world with his music.

In addition to a busy dj schedule, Alton has recorded & released
music on many independent labels, forever pushing his brand of
deep Detroit house.
